The CW’s apocalyptic drama, The 100, is back! Here’s a look ahead at episode 3 of season 5…

The CW announced last spring that it had picked up its apocalyptic drama The 100 for a fifth season, and now it’s finally begun in the US. Yes! We’ll be keeping up to date with all the latest trailers, preview images and cast info right here, and any spoilers will of course be clearly preceded by a handy warning.

Here’s the brand new trailer for episode 3, ‘Sleeping Giants’…

And here’s the synopsis…

Bellamy (Bob Morley) leads the charge investigating a potential way home. Meanwhile, Clarke (Eliza Taylor) and Madi (guest star Lola Flanery “Home Again” “Shadow Hunters” “The Mortal Instruments”) deal with the new, uncertain threat to their home.

We’ve also grabbed all the promotional images from the next episode for you, and you can access them by clicking on the main image up there – that’ll start our gallery!

More as we have it.

The 100 season 5 air date

The 100 returned on April 24th in the US. We’re still awaiting a UK date at the mo.

The 100 season 5 cast

Ivana Milicevic (Love Actually) is Charmaine Diyoza, one of the ‘mysterious criminals’ on the prison ship we see in the final moments of The 100 season 4 finale. Milicevic will be a recurring guest star, so look for her to stick around for at least a few episodes.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Charmaine is a “ruthless military strategist who will go head to head” with our already established characters. Sounds like a worthy adversary for Clarke.

Jordan Bolger (Peaky Blinders) has also joined the cast in a recurring role of Zeke Shaw, an adrenale junkie “brimming with brains, wit, and bravado.”

In other casting news, Tasya Teles (Echo) has been upped to a series regular, and Madi, Clarke’s “daughter,” will now be portrayed by Shadowhunters‘ Lola Flanery.

Shannon Kook (Shadowhunters) has also been cast as a new character, set to appear in the season 5 finale. The most interesting aspect of the casting announcement is that Kook’s character has the potential to continue on into season 6. Not many characters on this show get the assurance that they will survive the season!
